Little Jimmy Dickens: 60 years at the Opry

The little man with the big voice had a big show on Saturday, November 1, last weekend, when Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins and George Jones honored him for 60 years membership of the Grand Ole Opry. Dickens joined the Opry in 1948, where he met all the great country singers like Roy Acuff, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb and Red Foley. Dickens recalls that the times at the Ryman Auditorium were the best: "We were just one big family", he said.

Dickens had to stay very long in hospital in cause of illness the last time. But day to day he feels better and last saturday, he was on the stage again. "Music is my job, and I love my job". We hope, Little Jimmy will be at the Opry for a very long time in the future.
