Vern Gosdin dies

Country music singer Vern Gosdin died on April 29, in Nashville. He died at the age of 74. Gosdin was in his 50s when he received the national break as a country music singer. He started his career in the 1950s, then moved to California and played with the Golden State Boys, a bluegrass band. He had his first hit "Hangin' On" in 1967 with his brother Rex. But it wasn't until 1977, when he recorded the song again with Emmylou Harris that it became a major hit and the invitation for Gosdin to stardom.
